The Department for Education needed a compelling way to communicate the importance of early parent–child relationships, and how these interactions shape brain development in the earliest years of life.

The challenge was to translate complex neuroscience into something emotionally engaging, accessible and memorable for parents and carers.

CREATIVE

We developed a joyful animated film told entirely from a child’s point of view.

The story follows a life unfolding from handprints to crayon scribbles to fine-line drawings reflecting growing confidence and capability.

Interwoven throughout is a stop-motion LEGO brain, gradually building piece by piece as relationships, care and play shape development.

A warm child voiceover and tactile animation brought clarity, humanity and playfulness to the science.

IMPACT

By turning research into storytelling, the film made early development feel intuitive rather than instructional.
