The UK Gov’s Department of Health and Social Care tasked Atomized Studios to launch Best Start in Life, a new government information hub designed to support parents from pregnancy through to starting school. The goal was to create a powerful, emotionally resonant film that captured the imagination of parents while directing them to trusted advice and resources.

CREATIVE

Partnering with Freuds, I developed The Story of You, a poetic children’s tale by Camilla Reid, illustrated by Rob Biddulph, and brought to life through a seamless mix of live action and animation. We filmed well-known parents and creators, including Oti Mabuse, Billie Shepherd, Tay Kabs, Ms Apple, Professor Sam Wass, and even Mummy Pig, each reading a verse of the story.

The film blends warmth and craft to celebrate the shared journey of parenthood.

IMPACT

The 90-second hero film and suite of digital-first cutdowns launched across government and social channels to wide acclaim. The campaign was praised for its creativity, clarity, and emotional resonance, successfully driving awareness of BestStartInLife.gov.uk and supporting parents with trusted, accessible advice.

From creative development to direction, production, animation, and sound design, I led the full creative and production process, shaping a film that balances government clarity with heartfelt storytelling, helping parents feel supported and seen from day one.
